Why did you decide to come to SUNY Oswego?I decided to come to Oswego kind of on a whim. For the longest time I was set on going to Fredonia for Sound Recording Technology, but after my audition I realized that it wasn’t for me. It was just so hard and I was so anxious. The program is also heavily riddled with science and math – which are not my strong points. I really liked Oswego when I visited, so I sent in my deposit the next day, making my number two school into my number one.
What do you do in your spare time? (Hobbies, skills, etc)I love to read and write. I want to write books in the future for a Young Adult audience. I also love music! I was big into the music/drama club scene in high school, and I was a part of every organization/group we had. Last year I was a part of the SUNY Oswego State Singers, but this year it didn’t fit in my schedule. I miss constantly being involved in music, but it’s just not the same here as it was in high school, where I was with all my closest friends. I went to such a small high school, so we were all like a family. When I was in rehearsal last year, I would just remember things from that time and wish they were still here with me, not hundreds of miles away at their own schools.
What’s your favorite television show and who is your favorite character?I watch way too much television, because I am such a nerd, but if I had to pick a favorite television show I’d have to choose Doctor Who. It’s just so brilliant, and my favorite character would have to be the tenth Doctor, David Tennant’s reincarnation.
What is your favorite type of music and your favorite band? Favorite song?I listen to so much music…from Broadway to 30 Seconds to Mars to Ed Sheeran and more…but my favorite band (no judging allowed!) at the moment is One Direction. Not only do they write good music, but they are actually really talented and seem like genuinely good people unlike the Justin Bieber’s of the world. I don’t really have a favorite song at the moment. There are so many good ones out there it’s just too hard to choose!
What is one interesting fact about you?One more interesting fact about me: I absolutely adore penguins. They so cute and cuddly and funny and I wish I could have one…but I think I’ll have to keep settling for the stuffed kind.
