Fall means infinity scarfs, boho/homeless chic, boots, midterms, leather and spending hours looking for a tbt from summer (#takemeback). However, it also means prepping for BuckeyeThon! This year, the BuckeyeThon Fashion Show is sponsored by Sam Edelman. (Sidenote: To complete your fall ensemble, check out some Sam Edelman shoes–super trendy and affordable.) The fashion show will be on Saturday, November 2nd in the Archie Griffin Grand Ballroom from 7:30-9:30PM. The show will feature student models, student performances and our very own BuckeyeThon kids.
Have you ever been wearing a brand new, shiny pair of shoes, looked down at your feet, and thought, “Man, the only thing that could make these kicks cooler is if someone came along and gave me an olive camo print, stud-embellished straps and geo-metallic detailing…”? Yes? Because that’s the exact type of edginess that Sam Edelman hits you with. The brand’s ankle boots, wedges, flats, sandals, outwear and jewelry are essential closet staples. Like, the Adrienne Heels are a total S&M kind of hit. And if you think you don’t look good in cutout peeptoe booties, you should reconsider how sexy you are and try these out. When Sam Edelman is part of the equation, you’re bound to look hot.
In conjunction with the fashion show, Sam Edelman is also sponsoring a shoe design contest (**cue the Project Runway theme song**). Do you draw masterpieces on your Snapchats during lecture? You’re a designer. Can you craft and not get a substantial amount of glitter in your eye? You’re a designer. And to all of you that can put together a last-minute outfit between Thursday and Saturday, whether for class, practice or to go out when you weren’t planning on it … Guess what? You’re a designer. So, give this contest a chance and submit a shoe design–you might win!
Students are encouraged to submit any creative shoe design to Sam Edelman by October 25th. The winning student will be chosen by Mr. Edelman and will win a 2-day, all-expense-paid trip to NYC. S/he will get a tour of the Sam Edelman home office, have lunch with Sam and his wife, Libby, who is also a designer, and then be treated to a great night out in the city.
