Decadent Dorm Room Dessert: Nutella Cheesecake

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OSU chapter.

Ever crave a delicious homemade snack that just can’t be found on campus?  A quick, simple treat to satisfy your sweet tooth?  Well, here you have it Her Campus readers, the perfect dorm room treat: No Bake Nutella Cheesecakes!
I must admit, I freaked out a little bit when I found this recipe.  Who could resist fluffy Cool Whip, cream cheese and Nutella all over a simple Oreo cookie crust?  One look and I was sold. Early Sunday morning in my kitchen-less dorm room, I got to work on this heavenly combo. Here is a quick guide on how to this mouth watering sweet:

No Bake Nutella Cheesecakes

1.     CRUST

  • Crush 12 Oreo cookies in a plastic bag.
  • Melt 3 Tablespoons of butter and mix with Oreos to make a crust in an 8×8 pan.

2.     FILLING

  • Mix together 1 (8oz) package of cream cheese, 2/3 cup of Nutella and 1 tsp. of vanilla extract (optional) until smooth.
  • Fold in 1 (8oz) tub of whipped topping until well blended.
  • Spoon the filling over crust in the 8×8 pan.
  • Cover with plastic wrap for at least 2 hours and serve!

Easy to make (even in a dorm room) and super delicious, this dessert was a crowd pleaser during the Super Bowl.  Plus, since the ingredients are so straightforward, you can make this in individual servings or (if you’re feeling generous) share the tasty treat by making a bigger portion.  Go to http://www.mybakingaddiction.com/no-bake-nutella-cheesecake-recipe/ for the full recipe.

Happy baking!
