10 Underrated Products From ColourPop That You Need In Your Life

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OSU chapter.

I’m not gonna lie — being a makeup lover is hard. It’s annoying having to deal with the random breakouts, the eternities spent on getting your wings to even look like distant cousins and everyone’s favorite: guys constantly saying just how much they prefer girls who don’t wear makeup.

All of that aside, makeup is worth dealing with the occasional frat boy. However, arguably the most painful part of loving makeup is the damage it does to bank accounts around the world.

Now, listen, I’m about to sound like a straight-up infomercial, but I promise it’s for a good cause.

ColourPop is the absolute holy grail for anyone whose wallet contains ten bucks and a couple of gift cards that expired in 2006. Not only is their makeup highly affordable, but it’s excellent quality — which is what really sets it apart from other affordable makeup brands. Of course, there are tons of great products from other companies, but ColourPop is constantly delivering. Their makeup is amazing across the board.

That makes it even harder for me to pick just ten products to highlight here. Keep in mind, though, I haven’t been able to try every ColourPop product out there (as much as I wish I could). If you’ve got a necessity that didn’t make the list, let me know; I’m always on the hunt for new favorites. With that in mind, here are ten underrated products that just might make it onto your necessities list.

10. No Filter Matte Concealer

I don’t really like a thick base; most days, I’ll go for a little BB cream and some setting powder. However, this concealer is great for brightening my under-eyes, and it really stays put on oily skin.

9. Hanky Panky Super Shock Shadow

Before I say anything else, it’s important to know that I am pretty pale. This eyeshadow is amazing for days when I want to throw a little something on my lids without wasting a whole lot of time, but if you have darker skin, shades like Buzzin, 3, and Pretty Lucky might work better for you.

8. By The Bushel Lippie Scrub

I usually don’t like applying lipstick straight onto my lips; I always have to exfoliate first. This lip scrub smells absolutely amazing, and it leaves my lips feeling insanely soft before I put anything else on them.

7. London Fog Ultra Satin Lip

Um, hi, can you say drama? This liquid lipstick is advertised as more of a pinky-red, but I can honestly say she is bright. If you’re looking for a bold red lip, you’ve come to the right place. This is the boldest one I can think of, and I absolutely live for it.

6. Ariel Crème Lux Lipstick

Keep in mind, like eyeshadows, many lipstick colors unfortunately don’t work for everyone. For me, this limited time Disney lipstick is the perfect nude. However, if you’re not quite as pale as I am, Belle is another shade in the same collection that is truly versatile and looks great on any skin tone. Regardless of the shade you choose, the formula is silky-smooth and looks beautiful.

5. Strobe Globe Luster Dust Loose Highlighter

There’s not much that needs to be said about this loose powder highlighter; it’s so bright that it speaks for itself. This isn’t the sort of glow-from-within highlight — it’s absolutely blinding.

4. Double Entendre Pressed Powder Shadow Palette

This palette is versatile enough to create either an everyday look or something really dramatic. Even if eyeshadow isn’t your strength (in which case, you’re in good company), you’ll be able to make something gorgeous with this palette.

3. Lunch Money Super Shock Highlighter

Guys, this highlighter is the best. It’s subtle enough to wear on a regular, everyday basis, but if you layer this bad boy, it’s absolutely stunning as well. The only downside to it is that I typically have to apply it with my fingers — it doesn’t stick to a brush as well as more powdery highlighters would, as it has more of a bouncy texture.

2. Bibbidi Ultra Glossy Lip

I use this gloss every single day. It’s pretty. It’s subtle. You won’t end up with hair stuck on your lips every five seconds. Unfortunately, this gloss is a part of ColourPop’s limited time Disney collection, so make sure to snag it before it’s gone.

1. Afternoon Delight Pressed Powder Bronzer

Who would’ve thought that my number one favorite product from ColourPop would be a simple bronzer? No fancy lipsticks, no eyeshadow palettes, just this perfect product that blends like a dream and stays on literally all day. Of course, this particular color is just what works with my skin tone, but regardless of which bronzer shade you need, I know you’ll end up loving it as much as I do.
