As I reflect on a weekend I spent with my roommates, I am humbled and grateful for the life that I get to live. I often feel like college students we go through life without having moments to just sit and look back on their college experience. I am forever grateful for the ups and the downs and everything that I have experienced in college. This weekend I had the opportunity to go to Sunriver Oregon with my roommates. I went back and forth before deciding whether to go, just because I know that sometimes I need some time to myself. It is hard sometimes to find a balance between social life, school and personal time. This weekend I learned the importance of experience. Most of us came to college for a good education, which is something that is one of my top priorities. At the same time, I chose to come to this school for the experience, to live a life that I would not experience something new. The opportunity to go and spend three days in the snow is one of the main reasons why I came to this school. Being, in the snow is something that I never experienced as a child. Growing up in Riverside, California I saw snow maybe once in my life. I have always wanted to experience what snow is like. I realized this weekend when I was in snow how much at peace I am when I am in it. There is something so magical about feeling the fresh poured on the ground after a snowfall. The sky is so much clearer and life is just better. Even though I do not ski or do any winter sport, I still would spend every day of winter in the snow. This is something that I would never get to experience in California. This weekend gave me the opportunity to just reflect and enjoy the small moments. So take time this term to reflect and enjoy the small things.
