Love Your Creator: Gifts for Mother’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oregon chapter.

Mother’s Day is in less than a week. That means if you haven’t found that perfect gift that says “Thanks for all you’ve done,” now is the time! Many of our mamas may say that they don’t need or want a gift, but a simple something to let them know how much you care will always mean so much. Seeing as she did probably wipe the snot off your nose and sing you to sleep, an awesome female deserves some recognition.

The Power of Words
Okay, so you’re a college student. You don’t have tons of extra funds to go all out on your mom this Mother’s Day. That said, a simple card with a heartfelt message will mean more to her than anything.

Mother Daughter Necklace
Have a necklace made with yours and your mom’s birthstones and initials. You can create and personalize one on Etsy.

Be Beyond the Bouquet
As easy as the go-to bouquet of flowers is, it’s overdone. Why not go for something that will last forever and keep growing instead of dying after a week? Get your mom a gift certificate to a nursery. She can pick out flowers to plant that will remind her of you forever.

More than anything, moms just want to be acknowledged; all the hard work they do to keep the household running smoothly and their (grown) children happy and healthy. A simple thank you and recognition for all the hard work she does will make her heart swell.
