Holiday Drink Guide 2012

The time has come. In less than two short–yet tedious–weeks, the stress of final projects and exams will be lifted, and winter break will have officially begun. So go ahead and study hard, write that 8-page paper, but just be sure to reward yourself with one of these tasty, winter inspired drinks after. Happy holidays collegiates, and cheers!

Bailey’s Peppermint Cream

Ingredients:

-1 ½ oz Baileys, Hint of Mint Chocolate flavored

– 4 oz Hot chocolate

– Fresh whipped cream

– Candy cane

Directions:

Pour Baileys and hot chocolate into a coffee mug. Top with a dollop of whipped cream. Crush up the candy cane and sprinkle on top.

 

Snowman Float

Ingredients:

– Peppermint ice cream

– Gingerale

Directions:

Pour gingerale over peppermint ice cream for a festive twist on the classic ice cream float. Simple yet delicious!

 

CandCane Christmas Cocktail

Ingredients:

– 1 ½ oz vanilla vodka

– 1 ½ oz white chocolate liqueur

– ¾ oz of peppermint schnapps

Directions:

Combine vanilla vodka, chocolate liqueur, and peppermint schnapps in a cocktail shaker. Shake well and serve into cocktail glasses. Who says you can’t drink a candy cane?

 

Mistletoe Martini

Ingredients:

– 2 oz vodka

– 2 oz orange juice

– 3 oz cranberry tea, chilled

– ¾ oz lemon juice

– 3 tsp sugar

Directions:

Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and serve into cocktail glasses. It’s the perfect cocktail to get you and that special someone in the proper mood for Christmas.  

 

Christmas Wassail

Ingredients:

– ½ gallon apple cider

– 2 cups orange juice

– ½ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice

– 10 whole cloves

– 5 cinnamon sticks

– ¼ teaspoon ginger

– 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions:

In a crock pot combine ingredients. Simmer for 8 hours and serve. This classic holiday cider punch will warm you right up on a chilly winter evening.
