Name: Don Jahne
Major/Minor: Mechanical Engineering Major/ Music Minor
Hometown: Beaverton, OR
Relationship Status: Single
This week’s Campus Cutie is the multi-talented Don Jahne! Read on to learn more about him:
HC at Oregon State: Why did you choose Oregon State?
Don: I chose OSU because I knew I wanted to go into engineering, and why not go to one of the best schools for engineering when it’s right on your doorstep? Also, out of the school options I was weighing, OSU was the only school that had any type of music program going on. I’ve been playing trumpet since 6th grade and it wasn’t a part of my life I was ready to give up.
HC at Oregon State: Cats or dogs?
Don: Dogs all the way, cats can’t even compare. I’m a fan especially of bigger dogs having owned three rottweilers myself. You can follow my dog Champ on instagram (@championthug123). He’s way cooler and more thug than I can ever hope to be.
Here’s a sample of Champ in all his glory:
HC at Oregon State: What is your favorite pastime?
Don: Soccer! While the soccer snobs of the world may not be into MLS, this lowly fan loves the Portland Timbers. There’s something special about going to the games, being in the Timbers Army, and yelling your lungs out that is absolutely intoxicating.
HC at Oregon State: Where would you go on your dream vacation?
Don: I’ve always wanted to take a trip to Germany for Oktoberfest. Good soccer, good beer, and I’m sure I’ll get some good stories.
HC at Oregon State: Cake or ice cream?
Don: Ice cream 2016! Cake is good and all, but nothing is more satisfying than coming home from a long day on campus, putting your feet up, and having a couple scoops of ice cream.
HC at Oregon State: What do you want to be when you “grow up”?
Don: Being a soccer announcer or analyst would be a sweet gig, but I’ll probably end up doing my engineering thing and build some stuff or something weird.
HC at Oregon State: What is your favorite color?
Don: Blue. I can wear anything blue and it will look at least halfway decent since my eyes are blue, and because Pokemon Blue is the best game ever.
Give it up for Don, and stay tuned next week for another incredible Campus Cutie!
