Despite a quick hiatus from music after the split of One Direction, Styles released his self-titled album in May 2017. The album, which consisted of ten songs, displayed Styles’ ability to sing in more of a soft rock style rather than the pop style he sang when he was a part of One Direction. Styles also decided to branch out into acting with his small role in Dunkirk (2017), where he played a soldier; many praised Style’s performance and hope that he continues his acting career. Recently, Styles released his new singles “Watermelon Sugar” and “Lights Up”, and performed both on Saturday Night Live. Styles also announced that his second album will be released on December 13, 2019, which will consist of 12 songs altogether.
