Q & A for the couple:
1. How did you guys meet?
Lawrence: We met through study abroad outbound video production. I was director/ producer and she was one to be interviewed.
2. What were your first impressions of each other?
Lawrence:I thought that Lay was a very interesting person and I wanted to know more. She was like a mysterious door that I could not help but to inquire what was on the other side.
Malaysia: My first impression was “wow…this guy looks like he has everything together.” He walked in the room with such authority and had such a warm and kind spirit. He made me feel really special by giving me such genuine attention while listening to my study abroad adventures.
3. Where is your favorite date spot?
Malaysia: ANYWHERE in NATURE…and when we are together. We have so much fun anywhere together. We LOVE to go on “adventures” together and become kids again.
4. What do you guys like most about each other?
Malaysia: The thing we love most about each other is that we each love the LORD with all of our hearts; First and foremost.
5. How long have you been dating?
Lawrence: 4 months on the 24th
6. What is the most romantic thing he has done for you?
Malaysia: A couple days ago, I woke up really overwhelmed and somewhat in a bad mood about things in my life. He then texts me “Good morning.. How are you? There is something at your door.” I opened the door and there were these beautiful flowers and a card sitting there and the sun was shining right on them and me. The card spoke perfectly to my situation. Perfect timing! My day was great from then on.
7. What do you guys like to do for fun together?
Lawrence: Go on adventures and watch Heroes the television series. Most of all we find joy in helping others in need.
8. Have you met each other’s parents? If so, what was the first time like? If not, when do you plan to meet each other’s parents if you do?
Malaysia: We have. They loved us. They are all very spiritual and proclaimed success in our relationship. They enjoy being around us.
9. What are some things you guys have in common?
Lawrence: Our love for God, music, our love for travelling, being in nature, and learning international cultures.
10. What is your favorite memory of each other thus far?
Lawrence: After I took her out to eat for the first time, I took her to Boomer Lake. There, the night was set up perfectly; stars were beautiful and the wind was blowing lightly. Then ALL OF A SUDDEN, she had this urge and started telling me how we are supposed to be together and how we were going to change the world!! The wind blew vigorously and I tried with everything to fight what I was feeling inside, but she insisted and I knew that she was the one.
Malaysia:My favorite memory was when we went to Lake McMurtry and went on an “outdoor adventure” We fought with sticks as if they were swords, saw armadillos and got lost on the bike trail. We felt like kids again during a very stressful time of tests and responsibilities. He has this uncanny ability to “take me away.”
