Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, better known as internet sensation “Doja Cat,” has been under some heat for a while. The American rapper and singer born and raised in Los Angeles, California, started her career journey using SoundCloud, a popular music streaming app. Back in 2011, Doja Cat taught herself the technicalities of singing, songwriting, and rap after dropping out of high school when she was 16 years old. One of her first most popular songs “So High” was self-published and caught the eye of Kemosabe and RCA Records who both signed her before she released her EP “Purrr!” in 2014. Â
Doja Cat is most popularly known for her song “Mooo!” which turned into an internet meme all over the social media platform “TikTok,” but can we still say this is true? Â
Doja Cat has had a lot of controversy over her career, in early 2020 Doja Cat was “#Canceled” by “Barbz” (fans of Nicki Minaj) when a Doja Cat fan was attacked by a Barb for saying they’d rather see Doja in the middle of an art piece of Doja, Nicki Minaj, and Megan Thee Stallion. Doja snapped back and called “Barbz” “scum” for being upset over it. They threw a #DojaCatIsOverParty.Â
Early this year Doja Cat changed her whole look, shaving her head and eyebrows to completely changing her Instagram, which made her lose over 500,000 followers. In early August, Doja Cat released her “Paint the Town Red” Music video, which caused a lot of controversy. The music video shows a lot of demonic symbolism such as peeling out her eyes and red eyes, and is accompanied by death and the devil. People are saying, “This is really sad; she has changed so much.” A lot of her fans have her back saying things like “I love you doja! Regardless of what ppl say of you <3” Â
The internet is wondering what Doja Cat will do next to change up her looks, while she stays painting the town red.
