The second wave of the British Invasion has reached the shores of New York City! If you are a fan of the boys of One Direction (and let’s face it, who isn’t?) then the perfect place for you has just opened! 1D World features hundreds of products with the boys’ faces and 1D insignia, ranging from simple posters to life size cardboard cutouts of your favorite member.
When you first walk into the store, you are greeted by a real-life British telephone booth against a wall where fans are encouraged to write their favorite song lyrics and messages to the band. You can also take a picture against a green-screen and be edited into an image with your favorite band member or all five together, or instead snap a photo with the cardboard cutouts spread out around the store.
But before visiting the pop-up shop, make sure to brush up on all things One Direction, and memorize all of the lyrics to the songs: there is a karaoke station that lets you belt out your favorite 1D tune!
Open for the holiday season, 1D World is the perfect place to get presents for Directioner friends and family members. Hardcore fans might want a cardboard cutout or a 1D onesie (exclusive to the NYC stores – and available in four different colors), or maybe press on nails with the boys faces. There is a huge array of t-shirts available, from the traditional “I Heart 1D” to the hardcore “Future Mrs.” shirts that feature the last names of each member of the band to the special edition New York exclusive “1D ♥ NY”. There are board games (with the goal to be the first to make it backstage!), poster books, door-sized posters, action figures, and key chains, enough to make any Directioner squeal like a fangirl.
1D World is located at 2 Penn Plaza, next to Madison Square Garden, and is open until December 30th.
