Although being a fresher at Nottingham is incredibly exciting, it can also be ridiculously overwhelming. With all of the HUGE club nights advertised, it can be hard to keep up with everything else that’s going on in Nottingham and other local areas, not to mention the more alternative events being run by the fabulous Student Union. So here’s a short list of what’s on offer this autumn, make sure you don’t miss out!
The Geeky Shopping Trip
12pm-5pm on Saturday 11th October, meet at Portland Building Lakeside Steps.
This is such a unique opportunity offered by the University. This super cool tour around the city will show you the best secret gems that Nottingham has to offer! You will be able to discover the best places to buy your vintage and retro clothing, making sure that your wardrobe sets you aside from all of the other girls on campus!
Diwali Day Trip
6pm – 8.30pm on Thursday 23rd October, Leicester Cossington Street Recreational Ground.
Regardless of your religion, taking a trip to Leicester and celebrating the Hindu ‘festival of lights’, will be a fantastic day out with your friends. Typically celebrated with fireworks, food, and as you may have guessed, an array of lights, this is a chance to experience an event like you never have before and will be a brilliant way to broaden your knowledge of different cultures!
Sutton Bonnington 5km Fun Run
2pm – 4pm on Sunday 5th November (remember, remember), Sutton Bonnington Campus.
With fireworks and fancy dress as well as refreshments for all competitors, this will be a fantastic way to keep fit and have some serious fun with your friends! From dressing up as Big Babies or Disney Princesses to merely spectating, it will be a great way to mark your first Bonfire Night at University!
Calamity Jane
Tuesday 7th October- Saturday 11th October, The Theatre Royal Concert Hall.
Why not get some friends, dress up super fancy, and take a trip to The Theatre Royal Concert Hall to see some amazing shows! Why not try Calamity Jane (if you don’t know what this is, please….please go and find out!), it’s sure to be a cheap and exciting night out and a welcome break from working or partying!
Peter Andre Big Night Tour 2014
7.30pm on 23rd of October, Nottingham Royal Concert Hall.
Or, if you feel like being a ‘mysterious girl’, make the 23rd of October a guilty pleasure night and go to see Peter Andre on his first tour in two years right here in Nottingham! (Don’t worry, your secret will be safe with us…)
