This year, the Fall 2016 runways were filled with furs and jumpers and velvet (oh my!), but New York Fashion Week never fails to surprise us. We saw new trends that shocked us (leather trenchcoats?), and hairstyles that must have taken hours to shampoo-out in the shower. Nevertheless, Vogue fashion contributing writer Nicole Phelps called this NYFW “mostly flat”, and Blue Carreon from Forbes.com noted that the Fall 2016 season very much needed a jolt, (which the Marc Jacobs show, with Lady Gaga, contributed to the final day).
