Christianos, Jack, Joe, and Paul are the men of Dillon Hall. These guys can sing, dance (like Drake in “Hotline Bling”), hike, and study – all in one day! I had the opportunity to sit down with the men of Dillon Quad 232 to get the scoop on Notre Dame, Adele, tea, One Direction, and so much more.

What’s the best part about living with each other?
Paul: The daily tea (points to medicine cabinet filled with tea)
Christianos: We just got a new hot water heater and new mugs from Goodwill.
Jack: They’re basically wine glasses. We drink tea from wine glasses.
Paul: There’s nothing like coming back at three in the afternoon and making a nice cup of English Breakfast.
What would you guys say is the theme song of the quad?
Jack: What’s that quartet song we always sing in the shower…?
Christianos: It’s probably some Latin Liturgical song.
Paul: No. I know. It’s the Hamilton Soundtrack.
Me: What is Hamilton?
Paul: It’s a musical about Alexander Hamilton’s life. Very enlightening.
Joe: It’s like history in rap.
(Paul proceeds to play Hamilton while the rest of the quad sings along and dances.)

Who is the messiest member of the quad?
Everyone: Paul
Paul (while raising hand): Just look at my room.
Christianos: Joe and Jack are much neater than Paul and me.
Me: Do you guys make your beds every day?
Paul: Jack and Joe make their beds every day.
Me: Really?
Joe (shaking his head): Not exactly…but Jack is even neater than me. He makes his bed twice.
Paul: A breeze will come through and ruffle Jack’s sheets and it’s just so frustrating!
Jack (laughing): Definitely write that down. I make my bed every day, mom.
What is the funniest/craziest thing that has happened so far in the quad?
Joe: What is fun?
Paul: We have game watches for the football games. Oh, and one time we had a BUNCH of chamomile tea….
Christianos: And then that other time we had chamomile AND Irish Breakfast. In one day! That was nuts.
Joe: Or maybe the first time Jack saw Fellaini. Which he also dressed up as for Halloween.
Paul: Can we just say this interview?

All of you sing in choirs around campus. You also all sing different parts. Is there any one song you guys sing in the shower?
Joe: What was the song we all sang in the shower the other day?
Everyone: “AMAZING GRACE!”
Paul: Oh, and “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”.
Christianos: There are conveniently four showers…
Joe: And four of us….
Christianos: Quadtet coming to Acousticafe near you! Eventually. Put emphasis on eventually.
What is the best form of social media?
Paul: Tinder.
Everyone: Yep.

How do you guys feel about liking your own Instagram post?
Christianos: That’s weird.
Paul: Give your baby bird some wings to fly. You have to wait until you get double digits.
Jack: NEVER like your own post.
Joe: This is irrelevant because we only use Tinder.
Paul: Swipe left on that question.
Who is your favorite member of One Direction?
Jack: This question is going to take me a while.
Joe: Zayn. I like it when a man walks in his own direction.
Paul: I’ve been told I look like Niall by a few credible sources.
Joe: So Jack and I told him…
Christianos: I’ve been told that too.
Paul: I actually have a funny story about One Direction. I went to Jimmy Fallon’s show this summer and Jimmy asked the entire audience, “who is the hottest member of One Direction?” I gave everyone about a second to respond and then I yelled, “Harry!” No one else responded. Jimmy then spent the next thirty seconds making fun of the man in the audience who yelled “Harry”.

What’s your favorite activity that you are involved in on campus and why?
Paul: The Premiere League watching club. Oh, that’s not a club? Right, I do that by myself.
Joe: Jack and I have a pretty good time in Liturgical Choir.
Christianos: Glee Club.
Paul: I also do the sports. Or maybe knowing everyone on campus. #humblebrag
Joe: Put that in. Direct quote from Paul Stevenson.
Where is your favorite place on campus?
Joe: The picnic benches by the lake are a great study spot.
Paul: Geddes. It’s very quiet.
Jack: Mine is probably my bed any time of the day. The Basilica is pretty good too…
Christianos: Duck Island.
If you could live in another hall, which hall would you live in?
Paul: HOUSE! (then proceeds to list everyone single dorm on campus)
Joe: Ryan, DeBart, the football stadium, or Chipotle.
Jack: Anywhere but Carroll.
Christianos: Corby Hall
Jack: Maybe the Morris Inn.
Joe longing to go into his home away from home, Chipotle.
What is one piece of advice that you wish you could give your freshman self?
Joe: Don’t show up on the first day with hair exactly like Paul Stevenson’s.
Paul: Distinguish myself from my colleagues (stares at Joe).
Jack: Smile and wave, boys. Smile and wave. Also, get to know Father Joe!
Christianos: And eat all of his food. I also didn’t hangout with any of you guys until the end of last year, so get to know people in your dorm early on.
Joe: TRY NEW THINGS! WOO!
