At Home Under the Dome

Why Notre Dame?  I didn’t choose Notre Dame. Notre Dame chose me.

How did you choose your majors?  Going into my senior year of high school, I was planning on being an engineer. I took an economics class senior year and I started to realize that you can do so much with analysis of society, especially when you add in the computational elements of math that I love. I also like writing, so I picked up a journalism minor.

What is your favorite Notre Dame tradition? It’s basic, but the “Alma Mater”.  I love the fact that we sing it at the stadium on Saturday and in the Basilica at Mass on Sunday.

If you could live in any other dorm, where would you live and why? I think I would transfer.

What is your favorite part about living in Zahm? The community. I can walk into any room in the building without it being weird.

What is your favorite spot on campus? The top of the Dome.

Any sneak peeks on what is to come from the Class of 2018 student government this year?  I’d tell you, but then I’d have to kill you.

You Are the Music in Me

You love music. It is even rumored that your DJ skills occasionally grace all of the dorms on North Quad on Friday afternoons. What is your go-to pump up song?  “Stamp on the Ground”- ItaloBrothers

What song best describes your life? “Stronger”- Kanye West

I hear you’re a huge Akon fan. Why is that? Akon is the voice of a generation. Anyone who went to middle school should appreciate any song that came out between 2008-2010, and Akon is the face of that era.

What is your favorite song to belt in the shower? “Clean”- Taylor Swift

This or That

North or South Dining Hall?  North

Hot dogs or hamburgers? Brats

Hockey or football? Hockey

Coffee or tea? Coffee

Cats or dogs? Dogs

Soda or pop? Pop

Up Close and Personal

What did you do this summer?  For those of you who don’t follow me on twitter (@brunology_), I was a male nanny, more colloquially known as a “manny”. I took care of 9 and 13-year-old boys, the same kids that I took care of the summer before. It was awesome taking them places and helping them have a fun summer, all while trying to minimize their conflicts.

What is your ideal date? Something outdoorsy. Ice skating maybe? Adventuring or hiking up a mountain would be cool too.

What is the best thing about Minnesota? The people. “Minnesota Nice” is a real thing.

Favorite movie? Miracle. My second favorite is Inception.

What is your biggest pet peeve? Brickner (my roommate). Just kidding, it’s actually people who say it’s cold when it’s above 60 degrees.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? There’s a lot of places I would love to see, but right now my tops are Greece and Peru (sand dunes). Problem is, I don’t speak a foreign language.

Thanks for the interview, JP!
