Meet this week’s Campus Cutie, Genna Heidkamp! This fun-loving EE took some time out of her busy nap schedule to sit down and entertain you all with some insight into her life.
What are you involved in on campus?
I’m on the swim team, as well as Engineers without Borders and Society of Women Engineers.
What did you do this past summer?
I worked at GE Transportation as a Reliability and Quality Intern in Erie, PA. The Land of Erie. I also went to a One Direction concert where Liam wore my friend’s caterpillar costume.
What nicknames you go by?
Genna, Gen, Glenna, Glen, Bug , Gub, Gubbledinks, Glubbler, Boo Boo…my grandma used to call me Matilda.
Favorite shows to binge-watch?
I just finished Game of Thrones, which was awesome. I also like Parks and Rec and Workaholics. I’ve seen every episode of Friends, but I don’t watch that anymore. I’ve probably seen every episode six times. I have an issue.
If you could restart and be a freshman again, is there anything you would change?
I would be more involved in clubs that I didn’t get a chance to do. People say to get adjusted and then figure it out what you want to get involved in, but I say sign up right away for anything that sounds interesting to you.
Favorite food?
I actually have seven favorite foods. In no particular order, I like steak, avocado, pickles, chicken, bread (of any kind), cheese (of any kind.), and brownies (but only the edges). I’m craving pickles right now so that will be today’s favorite.
Perfect Date?
First of all, I would be wearing leggings, sweatshirt and gym shoes. We would go to Portillo’s and I would get a chocolate cake shake. And then we would probably just lay on a couch with really comfy blankets and watch a movie.
Why should everyone come to a swim meet before they graduate?
WELL, let me tell you about all of the fun things they do at swim meets. They play a video at the beginning. It’s fun to place bets on who will win races. And there are boys in speedos, some with six packs.
Favorite part about Notre Dame?
Vesuvios Pizza or Martin’s side door
What’s your go-to going out outfit?
My Arkansas t-shirt, Nike shorts, and bowling shoes.
What are you most excited about for senior year?
Having a full bed so 1. I can starfish in bed and 2. not having to climb into a lofted bed. I also love having my own bathroom.
If there was to be a movie made about your life, who would you pick to play you and why? Who would play your love interest?
Amy Schumer she would be able to mimic the shambles of my life perfectly. My love interest would be any member of 1D so I could be friends with the whole crew.

Get a Notre Dame-related tattoo
What are some things on your life bucket list
Move to a foreign country and fall in love with a foreign man, do the cream cheese challenge, and do a Half Ironman.
