Meet Baseball Player Jason McMurray ’15

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Notre Dame chapter.

Jason McMurray is all smiles and sentiments, but draws the line at Notebook comparisons.

Name: Jason McMurray
Year: Sophomore
Dorm: Fisher
Hometown: West Des Moines, Iowa
Major/Minor: Business (Entrepreneurship Management) with a minor in Philosophy
Interests: Guitar, piano, family and friends, females.
Relationship status: Single
Describe yourself in three words: Social, caring and driven.
How you feel about being nominated for Campus Cutie: It’s pretty tight! I’m excited about it.
What is your favorite Notre Dame memory: Going to the Grotto for the first time. I like seeing people in such a spiritual setting.
If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be: Derek Jeter because he’s the coolest man on earth.
Favorite TV Show: Breaking Bad. That show literally has me hooked to the point of no return. So good it’s crazy.
Best physical feature: My smile. I smile all the time even when I’m angry so that’s my favorite.
What makes you cry: Sentimental things like family stuff and watching others succeed. Not like The Notebook though.
Place you want to visit: Belsito, Italy because that’s where my family’s from.
What you love most about Iowa: The good people and the farms.
Where do you see yourself in ten years: Married with children playing shortstop in the MLB.
Celebrity crush: Nicole Scherzinger. I like that she’s a brunette, I love her skin tone, and her smile is perfect.
Something that people are surprised to know about you: If it came down to it, I would rather be a father than a pro baseball player. Also, I’m obsessed with women’s fashion. I critique every girl on campus.
My Ideal Date: The first date that I go on with my future wife. Dinner, a movie, and talking for a really long time with her. I wouldn’t know it was her at the time, but it would be something that I wouldn’t forget.
Pet peeve: Lazy people. Like my dad says, “I don’t care what you do, but find something you like and try to be the best at it.”
Favorite spot at ND: Between second and third base on our baseball field.
