Alex McIntyre isn’t just a motivated pre-medical student, despite a stellar work ethic and dreams of medical school– he’s also one of the most involved. Alex served as Carroll Hall President for the 2012-2013 school year and founded the Notre Dame Men’s Club Soccer Team, executively in charge of bring you Carroll Christmas and another great sports team. And, most importantly, Alex showed HCND that there are definitely some guys who make the trek to Carroll worth it.
1. What brought you to Notre Dame?
I never wanted to leave California for school but my mom encouraged me to apply out of state. One of my soccer teammates went to ND the year before and when I was accepted, I stayed with him the weekend of the shirt unveiling and– it’s cliche– but I was sold within an hour of arriving on campus.
2. Potential post-grad plans?
Hopefully I’ll go to medical school and move back to California or somewhere warm with a beach.
3. Favorite ND experience or moment?
There are a lot but if I had to pick one, I’d probably say seeing how successful our club soccer team was in our first year.
4. What do you wish you could tell your freshmen self?
Make good choices.
5. Favorite qualities about yourself?
My reliability and optimism.
6. What do you look for in a girl?
I like girls to play some kind of sport and be generally outgoing. They should also be pretty driven.
7. And finally, single or taken?
Single.
