John Corr ’14: Leading Man and Light of the FTT Department

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Notre Dame chapter.

John Corr sits next to me on the couch in the lobby of DPAC’s basement.  He runs his hand through his hair, gives me a slight smile, and agrees to become this week’s Her Campus Celebrity.  My heart skips a beat.  My palms sweat.  The delicious coffee that I’m sipping becomes even more delicious.

Mr. Corr is a Film, Television, and Theatre major with a Theatre concentration.  A gifted actor who has graced multiple stages on campus, John’s future plans include conquering the world of performance and maybe staying my friend. He is currently in Clybourne Park, one the FTT Department’s spring shows, which runs from February 20th to March 2nd.

If you were a Pokemon, which would you be?

If I were to be a Pokemon, I would be Pollywag cause he’s cute and derpy.

How many times did you see Frozen?

Five times.

What was your favorite part?

I liked the troll song, it’s so cute.

What was your favorite acting role?

Carlton from “Light Up the Sky”.  The reason is that I got to kiss a good friend, Joey Doyle.

What was your best date experience?

I took someone to see a show that had all my friends in it, so that was really fun.  And then I got snowed in at his house for 24 hours, but we’ve been friends for a while so it wasn’t that awkward.

I know you have these: Pet Peeve?

People being wrong and not being willing to be right.  That’s so obnoxious to say, but it’s annoying, why are people wrong?

(Joey Doyle, who was present at this interview, says: “That’s a fantastic pet peeve.”)

What’s something you want to do before you graduate?

Stage a play on the playground outside of DPAC.

Guilty Pleasure TV show?

Teen Wolf. The acting is unforgivable and I don’t know why I love the story so much, I just do.

If you were to do a cover of Let It Go, how would you do it?

I would just chant it, like single pitch, but act the sh** out of it and stage it on the DPAC playground.

GO SEE CLBOURNE PARK!!
