How Well Does my BFF Actually Know Me?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Notre Dame chapter.

I found this list of 40 questions you should ask your Best Friend:

https://hellogiggles.com/lifestyle/best-friend-questions-know-each-other/

And decided to test it out. My friend Deliah and I met in first grade.Growing up, we lived about five minutes away from each other and we went to school together up until college. She’s watched me grow and been around me more than anyone else (outside of my family). These were her responses to the hellogiggles list (disclaimer: I didn’t ask her all of the questions). It was really fun to take a trip down memory lane with her and I’m impressed and incredibly flattered by her answers.

1. What am I most afraid of?

Failing to help others

2. Where can you always find me?

Your bed lol

Or probably a library or something at school but at home, your bed or the basement watching movies.

(This is incredibly accurate. I practically live in my basement watching movie after movie.)

3. What’s been my greatest accomplishment?

Lol literally everything.

Probably like studying* in South America and not quitting on that

*(I was teaching university students for the summer)

4. And my biggest disappointment?

Honestly unsure because all I can think of is high school but it’s all worked out since then.

5. Where would we go if we could go on any vacation?

Someplace where we can relax on a beach maybe for part of it but also do museums and stuff like that as well.

Australia?

6. Describe my perfect day.

Wake up early and not be tired (ha), be productive in the morning doing whatever, and then watching Disney movies all day.

7. When did we meet?

First grade I’m assuming but we didn’t get to actually get to be close friends until 4th or 5th grade?

8. Back then, did you think we’d be friends for this long?

Probably not

9. Sigh, what was my most embarrassing moment?

Lol all of 6th grade??

10. Which fashion decision was my biggest mistake?

HAHAHAHAH

Camis pulled all the way down under t-shirts

Photo evidence of said camis

11. Name the song I love singing to in the car with you most.

Soul Sister

Duh

12. Who was my biggest crush when we were younger?

Danny Knoll?

Me: I was so sure you were going to say Marty Kelly

OMG IT WAS MARTY! I knew it was a lanky blond.

13. Why do you think we get along so well?

We had similar experiences of not having the same interests as the other girls in our class and from there we grew to like similar things and want similar things from life.

14. What do I do that makes you laugh the hardest?

You tripping. Which happens often.

Or your looks when you’re confused or annoyed.

15. Which game or reality show would I do best on?

Jeopardy. You know all the random stuff

(I don’t think this is true. I don’t know that much, honestly)

16. Is there a smell that reminds you of me?

Your house. You always smell like your house. Like family and cookies and laundry detergent

17. Name three things we completely, 100% agree on.

1. Helping others in whatever capacity no matter our circumstance

2. Mrs Klimczak deserves the world*

3. We will do anything for our friends

*Mrs. Klimczak is the mother of one of our friends from grade school/ middle school who has a heart of gold.

18. If I became president, what do you think I’d do first?

Fix social welfare programs

(This is not the answer I would have given but I like it and think it reflects my values)

19. What drives me crazy?

People who are rude to their mothers

20. Which two fictional BFFs are most like us?

Idk why this just popped into my head but from the princess diaries. You’d obviously be princess Mia.

21. What’s your favorite memory of us?

Sitting in Starbucks and just talking.

Just driving.

Summer days roller blading and goofing off.

22. Am I a cookie, ice cream, or cake person?

Ice cream

(Right answer!)

23. If I died, what would you want of mine?

Your generosity. That’s not what you’re looking for but I don’t want to think about you dying

24. When were you most impressed by me?

Um a lot but probably senior year of high school when you seemed to do it all without wanting to die all the time.* You still found time to be nice to everyone even if you were incredibly stressed and that really is a statement to your character and will always impress me

*this was a facade. I was incredibly stressed out our senior year.

25. Describe me in three words

Generous, passionate, forgiving

26. When we’re 85 years old, what will be doing together?

Visiting each other for vacation or having lunch together like once a week and just messing around for hours. If either of us are in wheelchairs we can hitch rides!!!
