Spring break is a great time to upgrade your wardrobe, but with the limited amount of closet space you have at school, finding room for your new summer purchases might be difficult. Before you pack to head home after exams, think about taking some of these cold weather staples with you to make room for spring essentials.
Take out: Winter Coat
Replace with: Rain Coat
Finally say goodbye to that super bulky item of clothing that seems to take up infinite amounts of space. When you store it for next year, you’ll make room for a lighter raincoat, an absolute necessity for spring showers.
Take out: Thick Socks
Replace with: Bathing suits
Those giant toasty socks that have been filling your top drawer serve no purpose once the temperature gets above a consistent 40 degrees. Bring back some cute bikinis to fill the new space—take advantage of going to school on a beach!
Take out: Snow boots
Replace with: Sandals and slip-ons
With no more snow, taking snow boots out of your daily shoe routine seems like a pretty obvious choice. With the extra room, grab a couple of cute sandals and slip-on shoes. They are still practical with spring weather, and they are much more stylish!
Take out: Sweaters
Replace with: Dresses and rompers
Big, chunky sweaters are great at insulating heat, but they are also great at occupying space. Bring them home with you for break, and in their place bring back a variety of dresses and rompers. They are super easy to throw on for a warm walk to class, and they make picking out a full outfit half as stressful!
Take out: Gloves, hats, and scarves
Replace with: Sunglasses
Remembering what its like to walk down Sheridan on a sunny day may seem inconceivable right now, but when sunshine does come out spring quarter, you’ll need to remove that extra pair of gloves you keep hidden in your backpack for emergencies to make room for some spare shades.
