I work at a clothing store in Evanston (Shoutout to Envy!) and last week a woman came in looking for something red for her daughter because she said she buys one red present every Valentine’s Day for each one of her kids.

I thought this was such a cute idea; Valentine’s Day isn’t just have to be about having a guy to take you on a romantic date or having a group of girls to watch chick flicks. It’s sappy, but Valentine’s Day is, in its nature about love. And no one loves you more than your family (awwwwwwww). This Valentine’s Day, instead of being on the receiving end of the Valentine’s Day Care Package, send some home for your family! It’ll mean the world to them. And it’s ok if they come a little after Valentine’s Day too.

Here’s a red gift for everyone in your family to ring in the day of love!

For Mom

Red Satin Pajamas, Nordstrom, $68

My mom is a woman constantly the go. With three kids and a full time job on her hands, she cherishes any time she gets to sit down and watch her Tivoed HGTV shows. For her, I’d pick these red satin pjs. A little pricey, but worth it. I owe the world to my mom, and giving her something to be nice and cozy in is something I know she’d appreciate.

For Dad

Foot Massager, Macy’s, $39.99

If your dad is the active type or busy working all day, a foot massager is the perfect gift to come home and relax to. Or, if he’s a little bit more on the lazy sports-fan side, maybe some soothing foot rubs while he watches his team lose will make him scream a little less. Plus, no one wants to touch gross man feet!

For Your Sister

“Love” Bookends, PB Teen, $49

I don’t have a sister, but I know for my girlfriends I’m always buying clothes, scarves, or jewelry for gifts. Instead, show you sister how much she means to you by getting her something a little different! This cute home décor piece is perfect for your younger sister in her bedroom back at home or for your older sister’s dorm room or first home on her own! Plus, she’ll think of you every time she sees them!

For Your Brother

Portable Mini Speakers, Macy’s, $29.99

I got these speakers for my younger brother last year for his birthday and they were an absolute hit! Now, he takes them on the bus with his soccer team to listen to before every game. If he’s a little older, these are still perfect to have for an outdoor event, or while he’s in the locker room after a tough workout. For boys, I’ve always found getting things they’ll actually use and they can see themselves using make for the best gifts!

For Your Grand Parents

Red Hearts Photo Frame, $9.93, EBay

For your grandparents, the sappier, the better. My grandparents both cried their eyes out when we got them a professional photographed picture of all their grandparents for Christmas last year. Use this multi-framed picture to frame pictures of yourself at all different ages; they’ll absolutely love it.
