Allergies are the worst, am I right? Spring seems to be the one season that festers every single possible allergen to me. However, I love Spring even if I sacrifice the natural ability to breathe properly or not scratch every inch of my body. It’s rough when it comes to allergies but it’s kind of worth it. Pollen gets in the air and surrounds us and I can barely touch the grass because I will have an allergy fit and trust me, it isn’t pretty.

One thing about Spring that is so random, to me personally, is the concept of spring cleaning. It’s just one of those things that both makes sense yet at the same time doesn’t. I’m certain that there is a long history behind the odd tradition that we’ve adapted into our lives, but it’s not something that’s necessarily common knowledge. I’m not the type of person to research traditions on cleaning, but hey if that’s you than go for it.

One of the things that has become heavily associated with the season of Spring is flowers. Spring is when flowers start re-blooming again. I think a lot of us start to picture Monet paintings when thinking of the season. If you live in Flagstaff, as I do for school, Spring involves a lot of snow and remains of what occurred in winter. The 20th is technically the first day of Spring – which I’m actually excited about. I mean, my birthday is technically in Spring so I have an excuse of why I like it so much.

With that being said, I know that this spring semester has been difficult for all of us. During fall semester we were all just excited to be here for the first time – to experience college. We got to make new friends, join clubs, etc. It was fun at first. Once we all went back home, however, I think we all realized how much we missed being with our families and friends. Coming back was a struggle for all of us. Even this spring break was difficult coming back from. We’ve made it a long way. We are so close to the finish line for this school year I can almost see it. We just need to keep going for these last few weeks and then we will really get to spend more than a week or two with the ones we love. So stop and smell the flowers every once in a while if you’re feeling down. We’ve got this!
