Not sure what to listen to this fall? Has your seasonal depression kicked in as it begins to get darker earlier in the day, prompting you to just want to curl up in bed and listen to sad music? Or are you just someone waiting eagerly for the vibrant colors of the leaves and the chilly wind to appear? Look no further because this combination of soft and slow songs are great for this time of year, regardless of who you are.

“Cyanide” by Daniel Caesar

This song is the perfect mix of chill but happy. The R&B genre is one that perfectly goes along with the fall vibes of this time of year. If you’re a romantic and into love songs, or just want some soothing music to listen to while you’re walking back from class, this is the song for you.

“Pink + White” by Frank Ocean

This is another great love song for fall. The melody is upbeat and is definitely worth a listen as you walk to class or along the busy streets of Boston. You can never go wrong with Frank Ocean!

“Slide” by H.E.R.

H.E.R. is another great R&B artist. With this new, upbeat song, you’ll be walking from place to place with a swing in your step because of the incredibly catchy beat. The lyrics are about having a ride-or-die relationship with someone so the song is no-doubt a passionate bop.

“Coaster” by Khalid

While more of a sad, gloomy song, this is one that you want to listen to if you’re someone who wallows in your seasonal depression. It’s slow, yet the lyrics are touching. It’s also one of Khalid’s older songs, but it definitely does not feel old.

“Shine Like Beyoncé” by Yo Trane

This is another slower mellow song, but with a catchy tune. It’s a true pick-me-up, feel-good about yourself type of song. Who doesn’t want to shine like Beyoncé, anyway? Yo Trane is also a newer artist and is someone worth checking out if you’re a R&B listener.

This season is all about listening to chill music, whether you’re under the covers in your dorm or walking to class in your warm sweater — you can never go wrong with these songs! Their beats align perfectly with the cloudy skies and busy streets of Boston. So what are you waiting for? This is the fall playlist for you!
