It’s that time of year again with summer gone too soon and NMSU students are back on campus ready to start the new year. With school, back up and running, campus has been buzzing with activities for both new comers and returning pros, for both the new and returning Aggie Activities at NMSU has been hosting the Crimson Kickoff which is a month’s worth of activities designed to introduce students to the college lifestyle and meet new friends. Crimson Kickoff started off with a bang August 12th with an aerial and fire show presented by Odd Lab Entertainment since then Crimson Kickoff has included various activities such as a Light it up Glow Dance, the stunning hypnotist Chris Jones, and a movie on the lawn.

Crimson Kickoff will continue hosting a plethora of fun and exciting opportunities up until September 23rd. Crimson Kickoff isn’t all about fun and games, it’s also about putting yourself out there and meeting new people.  This welcoming event has been host to a variety of organization tabling events, so consider joining one of the many welcoming and diverse organization because if there’s one thing that’s true it’s that clubs are a great way to make friends, gain new experiences and leave your mark, and don’t worry about not finding a place to fit in at NMSU there is always something for you from the many Sororities and Fraternities to various LGBTQ+ organizations there is bound to be something for everyone, attend a few meetings and find your fit. Make sure to check out the NMSU Insider app for all the latest on NMSU happenings.

With the start of the new year means fun activities and clubs to join but it also means the start of a new year of stressing about classes and while it’s important to work hard towards your goals make sure to take time for yourself, school is important but so is your physical and mental health, you can start by setting realistic expectations. As a college student, it’s nearly impossible to avoid junk food, so try to make healthier decisions the best you can think lesser of two evils, take time to focus on self-care whether its exercise, a new skin care routine or just allowing yourself time to do absolutely nothing, find a way to focus on you. As the semester progresses make sure your time priority is you because there’s nothing better than a glowing, healthy, and happy you! Now go out and take this year by storm!
