If you’re like me and always on the hunt for a good spot in the boroughs to take pictures, you’ve come to the right place. I found ten great places to go to for the perfect Instagram picture or even just to visit!

  1. Dumbo, Brooklyn

By far the most popular Instagram spot within the boroughs is Washington Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Between Water and Front Streets, a picture on Washington Street shows Dumbo’s cobblestone streets, the Manhattan Bridge and the Empire State Building.

  1. Central Park

Of course, Central Park is a treasure in Manhattan. There are so many photo opportunities if you decide to take a walk through the park or even decide to have a picnic in one of the many grassy areas. During spring and summer, the cherry blossoms are in bloom and definitely Instagram-worthy.

  1. The Roxy Hotel

Located on a corner that borders SoHo and Tribeca, The Roxy Hotel opened its doors in the year 2000. With the feel and exterior of a 1920s movie theatre, this location is truly a blast from the past. If the style isn’t for you, definitely check out the photo booth in the lobby open to all! For $5 you can get a strip of four pictures taken in a classic chemical photo booth.

  1. The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Whether outside on the steps or in front of the fountain, or inside photographed gazing at one of Claude Monet’s masterpieces; The Met is a great place to take pictures and admire art. For students and residents of New York, students in New Jersey and Connecticut admission is paid what you want with a valid ID. Walking around the multiple galleries is peaceful and iconic, even if you’re a big fan of The Met Gala.

  1. Greenwich Village

Nestled between Union Square and Washington Square Park, Greenwich Village is full of great photo-taking opportunities. Between the various brownstones, small businesses and the two parks there are many pictures to be shared here. This area is lively, often filled with university students and travelers of all ages.

  1. The Dough Club

With a handful of locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens; The Dough Club sells Japanese-style mochi donuts made fresh daily. They also sell milkshakes, coffee, and their version of donut holes – mochikins. Their locations are cute, trendy and definitely worth a visit!
