10 Songs to Add on Your Halloween Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at New School chapter.

Sick of hearing Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” every Halloween? Well, I’m here to help you update your playlist. But before that, let me tell you a little something about Michael Jackson and living in New York. Back in orientation week, I was walking back to my dorm with a few people, and one of my friends was telling a story about a guy named Michael. She started her story with, “Hey, Michael!” Sure enough, in the exact moment she said that, we cross paths with a guy dressed up as Michael Jackson. The dude casually replies, “Hello!” And that, my friends, is what living in New York is ACTUALLY like.

Alright, enough about my orientation week. Below you will find 10 songs that I find to fit the eerie, thrilling vibe of Halloween. You can bother the DJ at your next party with a song request for one of these songs, or you can blast these when you’re getting ready to go to your costume party. Rock on!

1. “Die For You” by The Weeknd

2. “Desperado” by Rihanna

3. “You Don’t Own Me” by Grace ft. G-Eazy

4. “LES” by Childish Gambino

5. “Bloody Mary” by Lady Gaga

6. “Every Breath You Take” by The Police

7. “Rollin by Calvin Harris” ft. Future, Khalid

8. “Stay Lonely” by Mags Duval

9. “Kill For You” by Skylar Grey ft. Eminem

10. “Gangsta” by Kehlani
