College Class Registration As Told By The Hunger Games

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at New Paltz chapter.

Aside from midterms/finals week, class registration is one of the most dreadful times for many college students, including myself. In honor of class registration week beginning in SUNY New Paltz and the near release of Mockingjay, Part II, I decided to compile the general thoughts that many students have while going through this stressful process as reacted by the cast of the Hunger Games trilogy.

1. You tell yourself this time you’ll get all the classes you want. You’re prepared now, having a backup for your backup schedule.

2. You have less than 5 minutes for your time assignment so you just sit there with your computer “patiently” waiting to be able to enter your class codes.

3. The time has finally come. You hit refresh and type away assuring yourself that you’re faster than everyone else.

4. But you realize that some of the classes are full or you need a pre-requisite or worse…. you have a HOLD.

5. Now you start entering your backup classes, but realize that they are conflicting with other class times.

6. Your friends try to calm you, telling you “it’ll all be okay,” but you just look at them like

7. So you beg your friends to help you search up other available classes you could take.

8. After registering and filling up your schedule, you tell yourself over and over that someone will drop the class soon or you can get an override for the class

9. But in reality you know that you might be stuck with that professor who got a 2.1 on Rate My Professor.

10. All you can do now is wait or plead with professors to give you that override you desperately want.

Goodluck to everyone!
