Put Away Your Cherry Chapstick, Katy Perry’s Not Interested

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at New Haven chapter.

Katy Perry was put in a awkward position Sunday, Sept. 27 at her performance during the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil, when she invited a fan up on stage with her only to be kissed and groped. Perry played it off gracefully, but seemed pretty shocked at first.

The fan, allegedly named Rayanne, dressed in a smiley face bra, kissed Perry’s neck and touched her for a few minutes, and Katy joked that she must be “rolling,” (slang for using MDMA) and called a stagehand to get the girl some water.

Most celebs would have called security for that kind of an invasion of space, but not Perry, who eventually managed to get the girl to stand back, and asked her to teach Perry a few words in Portuguese. For some reason, the young fan took this as a sign to grab at Perry again. The whole situation could have been totally cringe worthy, but the star played it off like a champ.

Katy Perry sent the girl offstage with a pat on the bum and said, “You’re not my first, and you won’t be my last,” and continued her set.

Maybe Perry’s only interested in California Gurls?
