Meet Alec ’17 and Veronica ’17, another one of our Campus Cutie Couples!
How did you meet?
VB: We met on Tinder and through mutual friends.
AA: Tinder, a dating app that let’s you swipe right or left. I punched right when I saw Veronica.
Who initiated the first kiss?
VB: Alec did. On New Years Eve at midnight, he made a speech to all his friends about a great year and said, “You want to know what my favorite part is?” That is when he grabbed me and kissed me.
How long have you been dating?
VB: Since January 1 2015, 1 year and 1 month.
AA: Too long… Actually about a year and a month.
What has been your most memorable date?
VB: Our first date in December 2014. We went on a road trip to Philadelphia after hanging out a few times. We went to the zoo, dinner and ice skating. I somehow didn’t think it was a date at the time.
AA: The Snowball. We got to let loose and have fun dancing.
What is your favorite thing about your significant other?
VB: I can’t really just pick one thing, but I would have to say how cute and smart he is.
AA: Her questionable comments. They are really funny from an engineering perspective.
Who said “I love you” first?
VB: I did, Alec saw it coming though.
How do you resolve arguments?
VB: After a few minutes after a fight, we end up just apologizing to each other because we know we didn’t mean it. Fights don’t last long with us.
AA: Depends on the fight. We usually talk for hours and create action items.
Do you have any advice to give to new couples?
VB: Show affection anytime you can. Both people in the relationship will appreciate it and like you more for it. BE HONEST. There really shouldn’t be any secrets in a relationship.
AA: Know that keeping the relationship alive is more important than you. If you only care about yourself, you’re not going to have a great relationship, especially when you fight.
What celebrity couple are your “goals?”
VB: I can’t think of anyone in particular, but I will always leave Alec hints by tagging him in cute things on Facebook or Twitter.
AA: Considering celebrity couples are a lot worse than normal couples, I would not really say there’s a goal there.
