Why You Should Join Dance Marathon

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NCSU chapter.

There are children all over America and Canada that basically live in hospitals due to illness or medical conditions. Because of this, their families face having to pay a pretty penny whenever they need some sort of procedure or service. This is where Miracle Network Dance Marathon with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals comes in.

CMN Hospitals raise funds for 170 children’s hospitals that support the health of 10 million kids each year across the U.S. and Canada. Donations go to local hospitals to fund critical life-saving treatments and healthcare services, along with innovative research, vital pediatric medical equipment, child life services that put kids’ and families’ minds at ease during difficult hospital stays, and financial assistance for families who could not otherwise afford these health services (Miracle Network Dance Marathon).

Students across America and Canada get involved in the donation process every year by holding a Dance Marathon at their school. Before the dance marathon, students will make accounts on Miracle Dance Network’s website to make teams and raise money. The school’s chapter will choose a day to hold their dance marathon, where those participating will have to stand or dance for 12 hours to continue to raise money for children’s hospitals. It is a great way to get involved on campus while helping raise money for the kids!

NCSU has its own dance marathon – and you should get involved because kids can’t wait! If you are interested in getting involved or donating, please contact dmncstate.president@gmail.com or DM us on Instagram @dmncstate!
