If you are anything like me, the loss of motivation near the end of the semester is so real and a huge struggle! So, I am sharing my top 5 tips to push through the end of the spring semester and finish strong.
- Schedule your working time

I have found that if I spread my classwork out throughout the whole seven days of the week, I get burnt out very quickly and don’t prioritize other areas of my life. If I schedule my time out throughout the work week (Monday-Friday), I get a lot more accomplished and can enjoy my weekend more! Obviously, there might be times where you have to study on the weekend or complete a quick assignment, but pushing everything off until the last minute will cause you more stress than necessary!
- Set aside time for enjoyable activities/ GO OUTSIDE

It’s near the end of the semester! Hang out with your friends! Go outside for a walk or have a picnic in between classes. Getting some sunshine will help your energy and happiness levels! Setting aside time for things you enjoy will improve your mood, overall health, and motivation levels throughout the last grueling weeks of the semester.
- Eat healthily and drink water

Fueling your body with good things will enhance how your body performs throughout the day! Try to stay fueled with good things, i.e. water, vegetables, good protein, etc. I find that when I drink more water throughout the day, I am more productive and less likely to hit a figurative wall.
- Include physical activity in your daily schedule

Try to exercise 3-5 times a week! Exercise has been proven to reduce stress levels, improve memory and brain function, improve your quality of sleep, reduce anxious feelings, and overall improve your quality of life. If you haven’t been including exercise in your daily routine, you definitely should!
- Remember why you are doing this!

Think about what inspires you! When your coursework gets hard and you have a rough day, think about what inspires you to keep going! Think about your motivation and keep it in your brain while you study or write a paper.
