My Top 5 Most Highly Anticipated Songs from RED (Taylor’s Version)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NCSU chapter.

The smell of pumpkin spice, the sight of orange leaves falling from trees, and the sound of wood crackling in a bonfire – it marks the beginning of a season. If you think I’m talking about autumn, you’re not wrong but for us swifties it’s the annual RED season. Taylor Swift has been in the process of re-recording her entire discography, so as to regain rights to all of her art (Go Taylor!). She has already released Fearless (Taylor’s Version), and RED (Taylor’s Version) is up next. It is undoubtedly her most fall album. It just exudes autumn energy. So the release date being November 18th makes perfect sense. I’m excited for every single track, but I’ve narrowed it down to the 5 songs I’m most excited to hear re-recorded, and recorded for the first time! Because some tracks are going to be songs we’ve only ever heard snippets of, or songs we’ve only ever heard live – but we’re hoping for some of those songs to be officially recorded and released.

5. Run (feat. Ed Sheeran) (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault)

So Run is going to be a song that we’ve never heard before, but Taylor has released it in the official tracklist. I’m super excited for it because I already love the song Everything Has Changed (feat. Ed Sheeran) off of RED. Their voices go together so well.

4. Begin Again (Taylor’s Version)

Begin Again is probably my second favorite song off of RED. I adore the music video and the fact that it’s such an optimistic song, so I’m definitely ready to hear the re-recorded version soon. It’s probably in my top 10 Taylor Swift songs, actually. And she’s got a TON of songs.

3. Better Man (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault)

Better Man has one of those choruses that just keep replaying in your head because of how good it is, but sometimes I can’t even remember where I heard it because Taylor never released it officially. But then I remember Taylor has sung it live a couple of times and that’s where I’ve heard it, and her voice when she sings it is just so raw and emotional, so I can’t wait to have the official version on loop.

2. Treacherous (Taylor’s Version)

Treacherous is also probably in my top 10 Taylor Swift songs. It’s one of my go to’s when I just want to romanticize my love life. It’s bridge is also such a serotonin boost. If you haven’t already heard it, it’s the first Taylor Swift song that I’ll ask you a thousand times to listen to.

1.All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)

This. Freaking. Song. It’s just such a mood. Actually, it’s 5 different moods. It’s the song you play on full blast down the highway, it’s the song you play while falling asleep, but it’s also the song you sing (badly) in the shower. Rumor has it that the version on the re-recorded album will be the original, which was 10 minutes long. 10 minutes! Until Taylor shortened it to 5 minutes for the version she released in 2012. It’s been almost 10 years, I think both Taylor and us swifties are beyond ready to give this one a listen.
