If you are a reader or you have a friend that is a reader, you will know that every reader has at least 1 author that they will read/buy whatever they publish. It is an automatic reaction, oh they announced a new book: preorder. For me, this list of authors is quite long and ever-growing.

To start this list, we have a popular pick of Colleen Hoover. Just this month, Coho released the sequel to her most well-recognized book, “It Ends with Us,” called “It Starts with Us”. While I have personally yet to start this read, it is currently sitting on my bookshelf. Like many other fans of the author, I preordered this book immediately upon announcement. “It Starts with Us” became a Barnes and Noble bestseller months before the book was even published.

Second on this list is another BookTok fan favorite, Emily Henry. Emily Henry writes cute romance novels with tropes including friends to lovers, forced proximity, and the guy falls first. Her upcoming book is called Happy Place. If you pick up an Emily Henry book, you are guaranteed to get all of the butterflies with a little bit of spice. Her past titles include Beach Read, People we Meet on Vacation, and Book Lovers.

While Helen Hoang has only released 1 trilogy, any future books she releases will be an automatic buy for me. Normally, I would not include an author who only released 1 series that they’ve released, but I just love the Kiss Quotient series too much. Helen Hoang’s books feature great diversity that is not always common in the romance genre while also having exceptional spice scenes that fit well within the overall story.

The next author on this list is Taylor Jenkins Reid. Taylor Jenkins Reid is most well known for her book “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo”. I read this book around this time last year, and I was completely enamored by the story, the depths, and the new perspective. Her most recent release is called “Carrie Soto is Back” which follows a character you meet in her previous novel, “Malibu Rising”. If Taylor Jenkins Reid is releasing it, I will be buying and reading it as soon as possible.

Finally, the last author on this list is Lauren Asher. Lauren Asher has written one completed series, Dirty Air, and is soon to be releasing the final book of her second series, Dreamland Billionaires. For Christmas last year, I received the first book in the Dreamland Billionaires series, The Fine Print, and immediately upon finishing I ordered the entire Dirty Air series as I loved the way Lauren Asher writes and her characters. Now, I have finished reading her entire backlog, and I am eagerly awaiting the release of the final Dreamland Billionaires series.

This is my current list of must-buy authors, but as I continue to read more books and new authors in the coming years, I’m sure this list will continue to grow!
