The joys of thrifting! My first visit to Father & Sons Antiques!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NCSU chapter.

Bored on a Friday night, I was wandering around campus, trying to figure out what to do. To break out of the usual routine, my friend suggested we go to downtown Raleigh and explore.

My favorite thing to do is go downtown and discover something new every visit. So as we were walking around the town, under the beautiful lights in the nice winter weather, when we stumble upon a little shop with various quirky trinkets in the window. We go into the store, only to find rooms filled with different wonders ranging from vintage records to retro furniture to decade-old styles of clothes. I wondered how I could have gone so long without knowing about this store, Father and Sons.

My friends and I spent hours in there, finding new and interesting things to play with and to try on. The walls and rooms are all decorated with individuality and quirks. You think you’re done until you turn a corner and find another room to explore. Each room has something different to offer and it seems as if it’s never ending. I haven’t had that much fun in the longest time; the best feeling is finding a hidden treasure among the sea of antiques. If you have nothing to do or if you are yearning for adventure, head over to Father and Sons.

You won’t regret it!
