I don’t know about you but one of my favorite compliments to receive is that I smell good. Applying perfume is one of the most essential steps in my morning routine before leaving my apartment.  I recently have been trying to find a new scent to buy as I am ready for a change.  This past week I received a sample of a fragrance I hadn’t tried before and instantly fell in love with it.  I don’t gatekeep so here is my review of the Black Opium Le Parfum Yves Saint Laurent (YSL).

The Black Opium YSL perfume has a warm and cozy essence to it.  It’s intense, but not in an overwhelming type of way.  It also gives a soft feel, which I admire. It has notes of four different vanillas, coffee and white flowers and I swear each particular smell is so noticeable.  Maybe it’s the vanilla latte lover in me, but I haven’t been able to put this scent down.  I have been working as a barista for the past few years so deep down, these subtle, yet powerful, notes of vanilla and coffee have a special place in my heart.

This YSL perfume has one of the longest lasting scents I have ever used.  I have been applying it in the morning right before I step out the door and still smell it when I return home after a long day of classes.  A good perfume only needs a few sprays.  Personally, I like to do one spritz behind each ear and one that I spread evenly on my wrists.  If these very few sprays last you all day, you know the quality is top-notch and that is exactly what I got with YSL.  This is something that helps me save money; only using a few sprays a day will prevent you from running out too quickly.

If you are trying to find your new scent and want that “wow you smell so good!” compliment… give this one a try.  YSL never disappoints.
