Fall Is Quickly Approaching, Here’s How To Prepare

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NCSU chapter.

Temperatures are beginning to drop in North Carolina- and you know what that means, fall is right around the corner! And I for one, could not be more excited.

I have been obsessed with the season for as long as I can remember – warm cookies, apples, Halloween decorations, apple cider, fall-smelling candles, pumpkins, pumpkin seeds, scary movies… you name it, I love it. However, this past summer- dare I say it- I became a “summer girl”. Ah! I know.

But, great news! One pumpkin-spiced latte later, and I am back in action and ready for the upcoming fall season. A little later than usual, but I made it! So, let’s celebrate!

With the new Hocus Pocus film premiering on Disney+ on September 30th, I thought what better way to bring in the season, than with a bit of a fall celebration.

So here’s what we need to do to prepare:

  1. Acquire your favorite apple cider, or hot chocolate, if that’s more your speed.
  2. Scout out those uber-popular “Halloween cookies”, you know what I’m talking about – the ones with the ghosts and the pumpkins on them? Yeah. Get them.
  3. Then, you are going to find your coziest blanket and the most fall-smelling candle you own.
  4. Light up the candle, settle in with your cookies and your cider (or your hot chocolate), and you are ready to bring in the Fall season with a bang! Or might I say, a little Hocus Pocus…

On a real note, change can be hard, even the changing of the seasons. We get so busy, we forget to slow down and appreciate change instead of running away from it. One easy way to force yourself to slow down is to celebrate this new season of life instead of pretending it’s not coming your way.

Remembering to breathe (or taking a pumpkin-spice latte break) and absorb the world around you, and then realizing that you are not alone in this can save you from getting lost in the hustle and bustle of life, and lead you to appreciate the changing color of the leaves.
