With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I couldn’t be happier to see so much pink and red, hearts, and bows all over my feed. However, if you’ve never heard of Galentine’s, then you’re missing out on the full experience of celebrating love in February. That being said, there’s nothing better than having a night to celebrate all things girly and lovey-dovey with your best friends, so here’s all the ingredients you need for the perfect Galentine’s party!

1. A Heart Cake

A cake is crucial to a Galentine’s party, and a heart-shaped cake would take your Galentine’s to the next level. However, to say I’m in love with vintage decorated cakes is an understatement- so I think a vintage heart-shaped cake is definitely the way to go. I think they are the perfect addition to any party, making something that’s usually generic or overlooked into an aesthetic centerpiece fit for any photo dump.

2. Mocktails

There’s nothing better than a sweet or fruity mocktail to pair with all of the cake and candy on Valentine’s Day, not to mention how fun it is to make them! Whether you love strawberry lemonade, Shirley Temples, or any other kind of mocktail, a cutesy drink is a must-have for your guests.

3. Bows!

I’ll say it- I’m a total sucker for the bow trend. Bows are an easy and affordable additon to add a cute touch to any hairstyle, outfit, shoes, or even decorations. For example, tying bows onto your glasses would take your mocktails to a whole new level. Also, bows are the perfect way to spice up your hair by tying a piece or two back with a touch of pink or red.

4. A Photo Wall

A Galentine’s party is the ideal opportunity to celebrate Valentine’s Day on your feed, so a photo wall is crucial to having the perfect place to hug your best friends and take some pictures. As seen in the photo above, I love a simple wall with the addition of some heart-shaped doilies, but some other good options include heart-shaped balloons or just a pink throwaway tablecloth from a nearby store.

5. Candle Painting

If you’re looking to have an activity to do at your Galentine’s Party, candle painting is definitely the way to go. I feel like candle painting has been growing in popularity as Valentine’s Day approaches, but if you’ve never heard of candle painting, it’s just the process of taking the melted wax from smaller candles and using it to paint a design on larger white candles, making the cutest decor or take-home items for any Valentine’s Day celebration.

Whether Galentine’s is your favorite honorary holiday of the year or you’ve never even heard of it, make sure to add it to your bucket list this year! Even if having a party isn’t your thing, get together with your girls to celebrate your friendship in addition to Valentine’s Day!
