1. Keep your circle tight
You’ll come to find out that, just like high school, people you start out with may not be there with you at the finish line. Find like minded individuals that want to succeed as much as you do. Those friendships usually lasts forever.
2. Don’t go wild
No curfew, no mom or dad at home waiting up for you. You may even have all afternoon classes so you can get turnt all night and still sleep in. However, don’t lose focus on why you came to school. Keep your GPA up because freshmen year is the foundation for the rest of your college career.
3. Freshman fifteen is real
Try to hit the gym at least twice a week. Most schools incorporate gym fees into your tuition. You might as well go since you’re paying for it.
4. Get involved
Don’t feel intimidated by upper classmen. The best way to meet people, network, and get your name out there is to join something or run for a leadership position.
5. Don’t stress
I know college can feel stressful at times. Finding your classes, dealing with hard courses, and even the pressure of feeling like you have to have your life all planned out can be overwhelming. Just breathe and remember four years is a long time away. Enjoy the present and this once in a lifetime experience.
