Must Watch Movies for Fall

As the seasons change, I genuinely look forward to the days coming home after a long day in the chilly fall air, turning on my tv, and watching a nostalgic movie. Of course with the hundreds and hundreds of options on streaming services now, I find myself scrolling for about 30 minutes before I actually decide on what to watch. So, I decided to compile a list of movies that I think are best enjoyed in the fall.

“Good Will Hunting”

  • Not going to lie, the first time I watched this movie it was for the sole purpose of watching young, yummy Matt Damon. But man, am I glad I watched it because it is now one of my all time favorites. Damon plays Will Hunting, a janitor at MIT who shocks Professor Lambeau when he solves a difficult math problem that was left up on the chalkboard. The film follows Will as Professor Lambeau helps him rise above his deepest burdens and reach his potential.

“Hocus Pocus”

  •  If you haven’t seen this movie—avoid all other obligations and do it NOW! It is a true Halloween classic that is on my watch list every year. The film follows a new kid in town, Max, his sister Dani, and their new friend Allison. The kids happen upon an abandoned house and accidentally release three witches who used to live in the house. The kids along with a magical cat must work together to steal the witches spell book and keep them from turning immortal.

“Rudy”

  • If you need a little mid-semester motivation to get through your classes, watch this movie! Rudy is determined to play football at Notre Dame but has a few roadblocks in the way including his poor grades and 5-foot stature. Watch Rudy as he climbs his way to the top and meet the amazing people that help him on his way to greatness.

“Knives Out”

  •  When you watch this movie, I promise you, you are going to think you are living inside of a Clue game! Harlen Thrombey, a wealthy mystery novelist, celebrates his 85th birthday with his family at his Massachusetts mansion. The morning after the celebration with his incredibly dysfunctional family, he is found dead. Police declare the death a suicide, but an anonymous source hires a private investigator to find out the truth. Who killed Harlen? You gotta watch and find out!
