Class year: 2013
Hometown: Durham, NC
Major: Biological Sciences
Minor: International Relations
Relationship status: Single
Personal Interests: I read magazines like Elle and Vogue like they’re the bible, while still managing to contribute to society as Vice President of our Student Government Association. I also love sports and have been on both the varsity rowing and swimming teams at Mount Holyoke in Division III.
What you look for in a significant other: Like most people, I look for a best friend. For me that usually means a guy who is a socially acceptable nerd (good grades & a social life) and can have a whole conversation with me using sarcasm.
What makes Steph, Steph: I’m a blonde Southern Jewish girl with an inordinate fondness for dessert and TV shows featuring David Attenborough, wedding dresses, and crime scene investigators.
Where you can you be found on a Friday night: Out to dinner in Amherst or Northampton with girlfriends then going to whichever of the Five Colleges has a dance floor that night!
Pet peeves: Chewing with your mouth open. I’m a Southern girl & went to cotillion for 3 years. Just don’t do it.
Favorite past time: Duke basketball games. Not even a question. My first game was when I was two days old (Duke v Harvard) and I fly home for the Duke v Carolina game every year.
Hidden Talent: In high school I baked & decorated wedding cakes at an upscale restaurant in Durham – and no, we didn’t tell clients that a 16 year old designed, baked & decorated their wedding cake.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years: I’ll be 29, so hopefully done with medical school focusing on neurology and whatever other graduate education I choose to pursue (still contemplating law school…), perhaps finding a guy along the way to live with and (what?!) I may even have a kid by then.
