The Sisterhood of the Traveling Purse, Part 2

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mt Holyoke chapter.

What’s in My Bag?

Today our other Campus Correspondent, Deborah, had the travelling bag! What can’t she leave her room without? Let’s take a look at what she always has in her bag.

Laptop

I love this bag because my larger-sized laptop fits snuggly into it! And it’s always great to have your laptop handy, especially for breaks in between classes. You can get some work done while you eat in Blanch or catch up on your favorite show. You’ll likely find me watching Empire or Scandal.

Pencil case

This is a given if you don’t want to borrow a pen from a classmate for every class. It’s great to have all your stationery in one place so you don’t have to rummage through your bag every time you need something!

Lipbalm

As it starts to get cold I think it’s important to keep you lips moist to keep them from cracking. It’s also much better than licking your lips every other second.

Planner

This is a lifesaver! I forget like 100% of the homework I’m supposed to do unless I write it down. This is probably one of the most important things in my bag.

Umbrella

You can never go wrong with keeping an umbrella in your bag in case of unexpected rain. Especially if you’re like me and don’t often have enough time before leaving the dorm to check the day’s weather.

Sunglasses

For those sunny days we are leaving behind as winter approaches… :’(

Headphones

Listening to upbeat music on the way to an 8:35 puts a skip in my step!

Portable Phone Charger

I always forget to charge my phone until 5 minutes before I plan to leave, so it’s great to have this. I don’t have to worry about my phone dying on me, and it’s also really handy for long journeys.

Snacks

Having a snack in your bag is good for when your stomach starts grumbling. It can be very distracting to be hungry in class, so satiating that hunger should allow you to be more focused and attentive.

So now you know what I have to have in my bag! Please share your go-to items in the comments section and stay tuned for information on how to win this wonderful bag. Look out for who on the Her Campus team is next to have the bag!
