I Used a WaterPik For a Whole Week, These are My Results

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Montclair chapter.

We love that clean teeth feeling, but we also dread going to the dentist’s office. I recently purchased a WaterPik, in other words, I purchase my own little mini dentist office. I am a stickler for clean white teeth, and the WaterPik is life-changing. The WaterPik comes with 5 different heads, from one for braces to one that’s like a blasting piece of floss. It is designed to portray a home dental care device, it uses high-pressure pulsating water to remove food debris and residue on your teeth, or below the gum line, such as plaque. It was originally designed to help improve those with gingival health problems.

Along with the WaterPik system, it also comes with an electric toothbrush that comes with three modes, clean, massage, and whiten. The clean mode is the basic everyday cleaning mode.  I massage my gums for about 30 seconds during every routine, with the massage mode, and it has made the biggest difference. The whitening mode, well I’m not too sure it whitens my teeth, but it is supposed to circulate a different way, to get the extra plaque off my teeth, that’s why they call it whitening mode I suppose.

I read great reviews online, however, I wanted to make sure it was as good as it is portrayed to be. I used it constantly twice a day every day for a week, in the morning and at night.  I figured, well if I brush my teeth and floss, why would I need one? What else could it get out that a toothbrush and floss can’t? Well, I was wrong. It got the sticky spinach behind my teeth, the extra plaque on my teeth, it literally felt like a trip to the dentist.

Not only do my teeth look and feel cleaner when I eat, but they’re also not as sensitive as they were before. I am excited about my teeth cleaning routine every morning and night with the WaterPik. I start my day with fresh, clean teeth and I’m ready to take on whatever the day brings me thanks to the WaterPik.
