Emerald? That was so last year. Radiant Orchid is the new IT color of the year.  It is a mixture of pinks and purples that is guaranteed to find its way into your closet. The light, playful hue is meant to inspire, motivate, and spark creativity. “Radiant Orchid reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®.

Not so sure?  Here are way you can incorporate the rosy shade into your life.

With every product ringing in under $25, you can stock up on the color in handfuls.  There’s something for everyone.  If you are not too crazy on lipstick or eyeshadow, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetic’s nail polish in ‘Pansy’.  It’s a light violet shade that won’t prove to be too crazy for many.  If lipsticks are your thing then get a load of the pop of color Bite offers to grace your lips in a matte shade of ‘Grape’.  Add color to your usual black cat eye and use Sephora’s Eyeliner.

While there are not many bags out in the market in the color of “radiant orchid”, you can bet there will be more as the year progresses and more brands take the color and use it for their products.  Using the color in the form of accessories give you more ways to use it.  You can take you pre-existing wardrobe and amp it up with a bright clutch or crossbody.

Shoes are a girl’s best friend, so why not stock up on some pumps and flats that are going to be boasting this bright, playful hue.  With an abundance of styles that shoes come in, you will probably find yourself to be drawn to it in the form of sandals or pumps.

Jewelry is the best way to get into this beautiful hue! It is the best investment as you can use the jewelry over and over with different outfits.  It’s the best bang for you buck and what makes the jewelry is the style and then the color depending on what you want to wear with it.  They also tend to be the cheapest out of all options as many stores such as Forever 21 or H&M are great for fast trends and extremely affordable.

What do you think of this vibrant and inviting hue?

I'm an eternal optimist, aspiring PR girl, fashionsta and friend. I love my position at Her Campus Montclair. Being Editor-in-Chief has taught me how to manage time, be creative with content, and most of all, how to be an effective leader. I'm currently the social media manager at the New Yorker Hotel and Manhattan Center in NYC. When I was the social media director for HC Montclair, I learned just how incredible being connected with the world could be for any business. Social media has become a part of almost everyone's life. I adore it for all it can do and hope to one day own a social media consulting firm that can go into struggling businesses or start up businesses and help them out.
