Why Valentine’s Day is My Favorite Holiday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Monmouth chapter.

I love “love.” I say “love you” constantly to my friends, and always make them say it back. I grew up with my family saying it, too, so I am used to expressing my emotions, romantically or not, for the people around me. I have many different love languages, but I love the idea of saying “I love you” and just being surrounded by love.

So, with this being said, it makes sense why Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays, as it is a whole day of love. Even though I like to think of myself as someone who expresses themselves all year round when it comes to this, this holiday definitely takes the cake for me. Even with never having a Valentine’s Day date, I think this whole day is the cutest thing in the world.

I have been tearing up Target’s dollar and Valentine’s Day section since they put all the holiday décor out. Even their online section is popping. Another great spot is Dollar Tree. They have some great V-Day décor and little trinkets as well.

Some people don’t like this day as they think it is made up holiday by the greeting card industry. Even if it is, I don’t mind. It is a fun little day to celebrate with a S.O., your best gal pals, or anyone really. Love is celebrated all year round, but Valentine’s Day is the crown jewel.
