Netflix’s TV show Queer Eye features the Fab Five that takes on an episodic hero of whom they change their perspective in grooming, fashion, food and drinks, culture, and design. After binge-watching the show, here are the most important life tips I pulled from each of the fab five.

Buy a shampoo that’s sulfate-free

Jonathan Van Ness would cringe if you are rocking a full mane of curly hair while using shampoo products that have sulfate in them. This thins out and damages hair despite what the bottle says.

Let onions sit in water

Thanks Antoni! Want onions with less of a kick to them? Steep them in water to get smoother tasting onions.

French tuck, French tuck, French tuck

Tan absolutely swears by this simple style trick. Tucking in a bit of your shirt at the zipper line will transform an ill-fitting shirt into a professional top.

Stacking makes the room look taller

Bobby is an absolute queen when it comes to flipping the interior of houses. He was able to make a low-ceilinged room look twice the height. His idea? Making the eye have to look up creates the illusion of height.

Put yourself first

In true Karamo fashion, no matter what you do, who you are, and what your goals are, if you don’t take care of yourself, you are hurting the whole of everyone else. It is okay to focus on yourself because for you to do all of that greatness in the world, you need to be thriving.
