You’ve probably gotten the gist by now that I’m really into motivation and helping people realize that their self-worth and self-esteem are incredibly important. Sometimes, though, it’s hard to follow even my own advice, and that’s when I turn to the world of searching for motivational, thought-provoking quotes online, as well as ambient and soothing pictures to accompany them. As we move through the month of February, I wanted to provide you all with some extra motivation to stay happy, keep motivated, be focused, remember how awesome you are, and get past the obstacles that this semester might be presenting you with. Here are ten favorites I’ve found so far:

“Be patient over what befalls you.” -Quran, 31:17

“I learned the value of hard work by working hard.” -Margaret Mead

“So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can.”-Ecclesiastes 3:12

“In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.” -Coco Chanel

“It is more fitting for a man to laugh at life than to lament over it.” -Seneca

“Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.” -Marcus Aurelius

“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m Possible!'”-Audrey Hepburn

“If you’re feeling low, don’t despair. The sun has a sinking spell every night, but it comes back up every morning.” -Dolly Parton

“If you don’t see a clear path for what you want, sometimes you have to make it yourself.” -Mindy Kaling

“The way to get started is to quit talking and start doing.” -Walt Disney

I hope these little thoughts have got you thinking about how great you are, and how awesome the path ahead is! Make it a great month, Lions!

Katherine (Katt) is a senior studying Business Management and Philosophy at Molloy. She's an officer for Phi Sigma Tau and an active member of Sigma Beta Delta. She's a staunch advocate for the commuter life, has studied abroad in France, Sweden, Japan, and Spain, and spent two spring breaks in New Orleans building homes for those affected by Hurricane Katrina. She's an intern for a local non-profit, works part-time at a chocolate factory, and volunteers teaching English to new Americans! She is looking forward to contributing a lot during Molloy's first full year of having a HerCampus Chapter, and will [hopefully] be able to impart some quasi-wisdom on the underclassmen before graduating. Outside of school, she loves traveling, reading, writing, spending time with family, friends, and her boyfriend, and being outdoors.
