A Ranking of the Holiday Starbucks Drinks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MMM chapter.

I love Starbucks year round. But when the holiday season kicks in, and the red cups come out, my heart gets a little fuller. Starbs has been coming out with even more yummy holiday drinks, and I’m here to help you decide which holiday drink should go at the top of your wish list this season!

Spiced Sweet Cream Cold Brew

Rating: 9/10

The same cold brew that you know and love, but with a holiday twist: a mulling spice syrup that has all the holiday flavors you crave.

This drink is the perfect thing to sip on a warmer day this Holiday season. The cold brew, one of my personal favorites at Starbucks, tastes so good with a little more spice added in!

Holiday Spiced Flat White

Rating 6/10

First, if you are still fuzzy on the difference between a flat white and a latte, let me clear it up for you. A flat white has more espresso, less milk. And a latte has, you guessed it: less espresso, more milk. And this holiday flat white has shots of the delicious Christmas blend espresso roast, infused with warm holiday spices.

A good drink, but the flavor isn’t a holiday special. It’s good coffee, but nothing too special about it.

Peppermint Mocha

Rating 9/10

A tried and true holiday favorite: signature espresso, steamed milk, sweet mocha sauce and peppermint flavored syrup finished with whipped cream and dark chocolate curls.

You just can’t go wrong with a peppermint mocha. If you aren’t in the mood for coffee, but still need something to sip on while you walking through the Bryant Park Christmas Village, this is for you!

Chestnut Praline Latte

Rating 8/10

Just like The Christmas Song croons, chestnuts roasting on an open fire is just what this latte tastes like. Paired with holiday spices, steamed milk and espresso with a sprinkle of spiced praline crumbs, this latte will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

This drink has a different flavor than a lot of the coffee chains holiday lattes. They swap the spice for more of a nutty flavor, and you get an extra sweet treat with the candied nuts on top! Definitely put this on your list!

Caramel Brulee Latte

Rating: 8/10

Starbucks caramel sauce is so good you could eat it with a spoon. So, mixing caramel into a warmer, toastier version makes you feel like you’re drinking a latte finally worth $6.

Appropriately nicknamed Caramel Bru-BAE latte, if you are looking for something more on the sweet side this is your drink. You’ll get all warm and fuzzy inside.

Eggnog Latte

Rating 8/10

If you are a classic Christmas fan, this latte is for you. Steamed eggnog and milk make for a rich treat.

This is very different: mixing eggnog and coffee, but IT WORKS! This is the holiday drink of holiday drinks, and will certainly get you in the spirit!

Gingerbread Latte

Rating 8/10

Gingerbread is the definition of holiday flavors. Mixed with espresso and milk, topped with nutmeg, this drink is perfect for any December day.

This drink is so perfectly flavored: not too sweet, but has tons of holiday flavor! Pro-tip: if you don’t want to spend the entire cost of a latte, just ask for a grande pike roast with two pumps of gingerbread and then add your own milk. Tastes just as good as a latte, and you’ll have extra money to spend on your family’s gifts! (Or buy a gift for yourself, I’m not judging!)
