Comic Con, held annually in New York City, is an entire weekend dedicated to everything and anything comics — graphic novels, movies, video games, toys and television. The convention is held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center every October. New York Comic Con started in 2006 and has grown to have an attendance of over 100,000 each year. Comic Con is organized by ReedPOP, which is affiliated with Reed Exhibitions and Reed Elsevier. NYCC is known for bringing the top writers, actors and industry professionals out on the scene. Stars like Kevin Bacon, Todd McFarlane, William Shatner, Bill Nye, Stan Lee, Dave Gibbons, Felicia Day, David Lloyd, and Kevin Smith haved dropped by the event for various panels, industry discussions, fan meet and greets, and press opportunities. This year drew big stars, such as Vin Diesel, who was promoting his new film ‘The Last Witch Hunter’, and ‘X-Files’ veterans Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny.

Fans go all out for Comic Con, dressing up in elaborate costumes with dramatic hair and unreal makeup — many dress to resemble their favorite characters.
